Introducing our expanded Learning Tools product family!
As part of our ongoing efforts to support librarians teaching and assessing foundational skills like information literacy and critical thinking, we’ve revamped our instructional offerings. The Learning Tools product family includes new options to help meet your library’s needs, whether you’re just launching an instruction initiative or looking to build on existing programming.
- Instruct (formerly known as InfoLit Modules) is a comprehensive platform of ACRL-aligned videos, tutorials, and quizzes that will help you enrich instruction, simplify collaboration, and demonstrate the library’s value. The included Credo Insights analytics tool offers robust assessment capabilities in a user-friendly graphical interface.
- View *NEW* allows you to jumpstart instruction programming with 60+ high-quality videos you can use to “flip” instruction sessions, engage with faculty, and provide point-of-need support for students while they research. Topics covered include information literacy, critical thinking, communication, and more.
The Credo IL Strategy Handbook
Creating an information literacy initiative can be daunting, so we’ve put together the definitive handbook to help you design, promote, and implement a great IL program. From planning to assessment, the handbook will offer tips, best practices, and real-world examples of how libraries can best meet this growing need. The full handbook will be available in December, but throughout the fall we’ll release preview sections so that you won’t have to wait to start making an impact at your institution! Sign up to receive chapter releases, including the first section on Marketing Your Program.
The Credo Blog
Last month FYE Correspondent Ray Pun profiled student support programs at the University of Florida, reviewed the new open access resource Creating Data Literate Students, and offered ideas for using zines in library instruction and outreach. The latest post in our series News from the Open Web shares new helpful resources, and in our first Hidden Info Gems article we link to data-rich reports from credible sources that may interest your users. Don’t forget to take advantage of this month’s Social Media Content for Libraries, and if you haven’t already, subscribe to the Credo Blog!

Time to update your LibGuides?
If you copied Credo’s LibGuides prior to 2016, you may be seeing some broken Credo images in your guides. We recently retired our legacy image hosting server, and the older image URLs are no longer working. We apologize for the inconvenience! Luckily it’s an easy fix. Simply go to your LibGuides Admin, select "Tools" from the top menu, and go to "Search & Replace." Use the following settings:
Search Type: Content Item
Checkbox: DescriptionSearch for: http://c1933542.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com/
Replace with: https://media.credoreference.com/
Match Type: Contains
Case Type: Insensitive
Then click "Search and Replace." This should update the Credo images in all of your guides to the new server and get them working again. If you'd like a quick walkthrough of this function, or if you have any questions or concerns, just respond to this email.
