Help us support effective school library programs
“Every child in America deserves access to an effective school library program.”
- We the People - Your Voice in Our Government
We the People is an online platform that provides a way to petition the Obama Administration and gain support for important issues facing the United States. Petitions that receive enough support are reviewed by the White House staff and sent to appropriate policy experts for an official response.
We the People is currently promoting a petition on their site addressing the importance of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) and petitioning the Obama Administration to ensure that every child in America has access to an effective school library program.
We at Credo Reference strongly believe that all 21st century learners, (regardless of race, gender, nationality, social status, educational background, etc.), should have access to the resources and tools that constitute a 21st century learning environment in order to have an equal opportunity to acquire the skills necessary to learn, participate and compete in today’s world. The much heard-about and read-about reductions in school library programs have been making this a difficult goal to accomplish lately, and we seek to close the gap and help to provide equal educational opportunity for all learners in today’s world.
